Rottweilers, Thugs and a Loud Alarm-Site Security for less than $15/year!

This article is about 500 words long, and will take about 3 to 5 minutes to read.

If you’re accepting payments, You need security

At the top of the market you can easily pay $1500 per year for that little “s” that makes so much of a difference in how your web business runs. The difference between http:// and https:// is now influencing your sales more than ever before. In fact, sites with SSL certificates (the magical coding that gives you that extra “s” in your web address) are actually getting rewarded by search engines like Google and Yahoo. On top of that, web browsers everywhere are now ratting you out for not having a security certificate on your site! Browsers have been notifying their users for a while now with that little lock symbol, but now they’ve stepped it up a notch! Every one of your visitors that has upgraded to the latest version of Internet Explorer or Firefox is now warned by their browser that they are about to enter their sensitive information into an unencrypted site with a big, bright security pop-up.

Now’s the time to bite the bullet and add some security to your website and reap all the rewards. But you don’t have to shell out the big bucks for that priceless little “s”. You can get a top-notch SSL certificate for a fraction of the cost and still get the same high quality protection. Check out RapidSSLOnline.com. Amazing prices, Same Quality.

Some sample prices from the most expensive to the least:

Verisign Secure Site Pro with EV Certificates:

From Verisign…$1499.

From RapidSSLOnline.com…$1239

RapidSSL Certificate:

From RapidSSL…$79

From RapidSSLOnlines.com…$13.95/year if you buy 5 years at once, or $17.95 for 1 year.

RapidSSL is a great certificate and it will get you that precious “s” that will make all the difference in your customer’s eyes. Once you’ve got your certificate RapidSSLOnline.com will send you directions for how to install the coding, but if you’re on a shared host you will most likely need to get your host to install the certificate for you. Most shared hosts use cPanel and you as a mere “User’ of the interface rather than an “administrator” will not have access to the appropriate buttons to install the certificate. Hosts will most likely charge you for this service, so that may be another cost you weren’t expecting. Lunarpages wanted to charge me almost $50 to install the certificate. If anyone else has any other experiences about how much hosts want to charge for this service, let me know. I’m curious how much shared hosts will charge to do something for you that you are perfectly capable of doing but aren’t allowed to do, ironically, “for security reasons”
