About Efficient Entrepreneur
Efficient Entrepreneur was started to cut through the ridiculous amount of BS on the web. Only two decades ago, in order to be a proper swindler you would need to put in a great deal of effort to convince people of your legitimacy. After all, the days of selling snake oil had long been over and there were quite a few decent barriers to entry in most markets. Not that I condone barriers to entry.
Then this magical place was created…the Web. Wow. $10 a year gets you a legitimate name. Hosting can be as cheap as $5 a month and divided among a couple hundred websites running on the same shared server could end up being as cheap as less than one cent per domain.
What makes the current Web Business market even more interesting is the seemingly constant stream of new “amazing” money-making tutorials, programs, conferences, books and the like. And due to a lack of personal creativity in the “fast-buck” market, we suddenly find ourselves with an overabundance of similar looking webpages, all selling their own brand of modern snake oil. Have you noticed how many “sales letter” pages you can find out there?! Or how many sites exist now that consist of no real content, nothing really useful, just ads? Ahhhhh, you gotta love the power of the promise of an easy buck.
After spending years chasing one brilliant concept after another, reading one new hot business book after another, and sinking time and money getting comfortable with one amazing money-making tool after another, I got sick of it. My patience has been worn thin from wasted hours and dollars spent chasing pyramid schemes and fluff-filled concepts. So to assuage my aggressions, I created a safehaven for those serious about making their business or organization web-friendly and to help cut through all the static out there to get to the heart, the core, the “meat-and-potatoes” information you’re really looking for.
As an aside, I am a BIG proponent of Free. Open-source. GNU and CC license. I believe the rise of the internet is not only a vast market for businesses but also for society as a whole. I support those that create useful tools free for the public just because they see a hole in the technological landscape and they know they can fill it well. It promotes the idea that everyone should have a fair shot, regardless of income, to make their mark on the world. I appreciate these tools and regularly promote them here!
