Google wants your articles

As part of any company’s marketing focus, you’re spending most of your advertising time writing interesting and relevant articles promoting topics that relate to what your site offers your target audience. And most of the time you’re writing articles on blogs and sites like EZine.com or GoArticles.com. If you’ve taken this strategy to the next level then you’ve most likely managed to get your input (and therefore your name) onto key info sites like About.com and Wikipedia.com.
But in all honesty, you’re doing ALL this just to have your articles and your site show up on Google. Google’s figured you out…and now they want in on the game. So Google’s come out with their own article database called Knol. “A knol is an authoritative article about a specific topic.”
Google isn’t really promoting this division of its behemoth structure just yet. And Knol may explode like Google Earth or it could fizzle out like Froogle. Knol’s classic style is more akin to Wikipedia than Ezine.com, which gives it more credibility in the eyes of the visitor. On the other hand, with only 4 “featured Knols” on the first page, you’re mistakenly left feeling that the site is empty. Use the familiar Google search box in the upper-right corner and get a good taste for how many of your competitors have already jumped on board. You may be surprised to see the results.
Either way, the site most likely won’t disappear. So if you’re already sending out your relevant, interesting articles to a handful of legitimate knowledge-hub sites you might as well add Google’s version to your list. Chances are Google will be looking very highly on your contributions.
